The GamersNexus “Volt” Series Modmat is an exceptionally durable PC building anti-static conductive work surface, designed to protect your table and your components while also offering convenient reference materials and diagrams. The “Volt” Modmat is a 4’ x 2’ (1220x610mm) surface, made of a ruggedized, heat-resistant rubberized material that can be used for PC builds, video card tear-downs, water cooling and tube bending projects, and in any environment demanding of a work surface that can take abuse. The Modmat includes a common ground point and anti-static wrist strap, and the “Volt” Series Modmat has 2x 10mm snaps for convenient connection on either side of the mat. The Modmat is not intended for use as a mousing surface or as an active test bench and is most at home as a build surface. The nature of an anti-static conductive mat means that it should be used with components in an off state while building or assembling (isolate components under test from the mat, as it is anti-static conductive).

The new Modmat includes quick-reference Ethernet wiring diagrams so you can spot-check the mat during your Ethernet cable builds; it has DDR memory sizing that’s to scale to quickly identify old modules lying around – and yes, we even spent time getting the pin count accurate; we’ve bulked-up our pin-outs of PCIe, EPS12V, 4-pin, and fan wiring with new RGB and ARGB connector pin-outs so you know where the 12V, 5V, and ground lines are; we’ve added an electrical symbology reference table and a protractor for making cuts while working on the mat, and the GN tear-down logo is now brighter and more detailed than ever, replete with its wireframe PC component layout of voltage regulator modules, fans, heatsinks, and everything a PC enthusiast would recognize. This is an anti-static conductive work surface and is not intended for use as a mouse pad or as an active bench platform (isolate the components from the mat). If you’d like a mouse mat instead, we have those here.

2x 10mm GROUND SNAPS

The GamersNexus “Volt” Modmat includes a free male common ground point (10mm stud, 6' cable) with two receptacles for banana plugs, compatible with our included anti-static wrist strap. Static electricity will be grounded through the wrist strap, dispersed through the inner layer of the mat, and grounded to the wall through the common ground point. The ground point has a metal loop on the end that loops around the ground screw in a wall plate, and the mat-side offers 2x female 10mm snaps for added convenience and left-handed ease-of-use. You can swap the ground point to either side.

NEW POWER PINOUTS & WIRING

Our Volt Modmat includes a pin-out diagram for the terminating device-end of power supply cables, supplying quick reference material for 12V rails (for easy current clamping or monitoring), 5V rails, and jump start pins on the 24-pin connector. We also included Ethernet wiring diagrams for making your own Ethernet cables, alongside common RGB & ARGB pinouts and electrical symbology in the top right of the Modmat.

SCREW ORGANIZER & SORTING

The Volt Modmat includes two areas for sorting screws and tracking them during disassembly: The first is the GPU silhouette grid on the right side, which includes two video card outlines (one for the top and one for the bottom of the PCB), and the other is on the left-side as a more general purpose organizational ‘grid.’

ESD Mats for Building a PC

The mat includes two ground points (10mm female snap, one in the bottom left and one in the bottom right) that connects with our included common ground point. The snaps are connected to the mat with a simple Philips head screw, so you can easily remove or relocate them if desired.

Our Modmat uses high-quality materials that ensure a strong grip on the components and the surface, while also protecting the underlying table. The Modmat is built to endure multiple system builds and PC DIY projects, and is a product we built first for ourselves: We will be using this in daily disassembly and reassembly of parts and computers, and we hope you're as excited about it as we are.
