Working At GamersNexus

Our Objectives

GamersNexus has been in business since c. 2008 and has stayed true to its mission ever since the beginning: Focusing first on protecting consumers from bad purchases, pushing companies past lazy tendencies and towards improvement, and working internally to improve our own validation and testing processes. We aim to be a leading authority in the PC component and hardware space, including advanced testing procedures, humorous but impactful writing, and high production quality editing.

(THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO OPEN POSITIONS)

Our Work Culture

Most of the team has been with GN for about 10 years, depending on how you count early contributions, and it’s time for us to grow. GamersNexus provides an exceptional work environment with extremely talented teammates. The environment is fun, but professional, and there are opportunities to learn every day. You come here if you’re passionate about working on and with computers, if you place high value on doing the right thing by consumers but can be fair to companies as well, and if you want to grow with us. We don’t hire often, so each of our hires needs to be highly skilled, efficient, and passionate about their work; just like everything else we do, we believe in quality over quantity, and so this is a fairly rare job opportunity with a lot of room to scale with the company as it continues to expand. You will be working alongside about 5-6 other team members in a welcoming group that is excited to share its knowledge.

Each individual has a marked and noticeable impact to the company (and to millions of consumers worldwide). This isn’t a big corporate role where you disappear into the background — you will be able to see your contributions take shape.

Work/Life Balance

GN believes in a healthy work/life balance for its team. In addition to keeping hours manageable for team members, GN also has a number of on-site facilities to promote separation from work during breaks. Facilities include an on-site gym and shower, a large break room, a yard and (developing) garden, and a small trails system that begins on GN HQ land and connects with an extensive town greenway in the vicinity. The nearby trail is pictured on the right, with team members going for a lunch hike.

Independence & Specialization

GN aims to keep its team highly trained, talented, efficient, and small in size. This allows us mobility to tackle growing stories as they’re gaining traction, it helps us keep accuracy and quality high, and it means each person contributes noticeably at an individual level and to the team as a whole. Each team member is encouraged to become a Subject Matter Expert in at least one component category, eventually becoming the go-to for the rest of the team as needs for coverage of that component arise.

Changing the Industry

GamersNexus has had an undeniable impact on the development of computer hardware products for consumers, such as case and cooler design, and has also caused a shift in the media landscape revolving around review expectations. Our approach of consumer-first testing has allowed us to approach products and controversies in the industry with minimal bias, encouraging betterment for the PC DIY industry and enthusiasts in it.
